Doc Rivers out as LA Clippers coach
It was less than a week ago when we reported the LA Clippers quit on Doc Rivers and it turns out, that was exactly the case. After a disappointing finish to what was supposed to be their banner season, the LA Clippers have reportedly parted ways with head coach Doc Rivers.
With reports of the team being frustrated with certain play calling and rotation mixes during the Bubble playoffs, this move is not as surprising as some might think.
The team traded the world to land Paul George and signed Kawhi Leonard and all fingers started pointing to the eventually fall guy in Rivers if things didn't go as planned. The former Clippers coach is the only coach to blow three 3-1 series leads in NBA history and the Clips surrendered double-digit leads in all three of the last games against the Nuggets.
Quite frankly, it wasn't good enough and after 7 seasons as Clippers bench boss, Doc Rivers has been let go.
