If DeMar DeRozan opts-in, he's likely traded from San Antonio
DeMar DeRozan has a player's option and from all accounts, the scoring wing is going to opt-in, securing himself over $27 million dollars. According to multiple reports including from Bleacher Report, if DeRozan decides he wants his money, it may not be San Antonio who is signing the cheques.
DeRozan is rumored to be open and available for teams via trade as San Antonio is closing in on a transition phase, that may see the team have a new bench boss sooner than later, and a new young nucleus to build around.
Trade talks have been linked to the Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks as all three teams are trying desperately to acquiring some scoring punch and would love to add DeRozan to their mix.
DeRozan has one-year left on his deal, and will hit the open market after next season. Keep an eye on the Compton product as there's been rumblings he has someone in mind he would like to reunite with to finish off their careers together, who also happens to be a free agent after next season....
