NBA Coach of the Year Nick Nurse Inks Contract Extension
Newly minted NBA Coach of the Year Nick Nurse has been signed to a multi-year extension by the Toronto Raptors, and rightfully so.
Nurse has had an unprecedented run in his first two years as a head coach – an NBA Championship in year one, COY in year two to go along with a regular season winning percentage of .721.
Already an assistant coach in Toronto for five previous seasons, Nurse is excited to spend more time North of the border.
"Toronto has been my home for the past seven years, and I look forward to it being home for many more. I've watched this franchise grow and reach the pinnacle, and I look forward to the challenge of helping us win another championship."
The next move
for Raptors ownership will be to lock up President Masai Ujiri and General
Manager Bobby Webster to contract extensions. With the front office and bench boss taken care of, a roster full of young, championship-hardened pieces, look for the Raptors to stay atop the East for the foreseeable future.
