Toronto Raptors make contract offer to Serge Ibaka
The Toronto Raptors are in the middle of one of the franchises busiest off seasons to date. With the likes of Fred VanVleet, Marc Gasol, and Serge Ibaka all hitting the open market, the team has some massive decisions to make as they try to re-tool on the fly.
After the team announced a multi-year extension for head coach Nick Nurse, rumor has it the team has also reached out to Serge Ibaka and offered him a one-year deal at $18 million to stay North, in Toronto. The versatile power forward is coming off a three-year, $65 million dollar deal.
The $18 million dollar deal isn't as lucrative for Ibaka, obviously, but it certainly gives the Raptors a chance to bring the 'Mafuzzy Chef' back into the fold and set themselves with a massive amount of cap space the following year.
Why is that important you ask.....?
