You won't believe what Kawhi Leonard told the Raptors before he left!
Kawhi Leonard went to the North, won a 'Chip and headed home. Leonard had little interest in first going to Toronto, but once he bought in, he then realized the team was good enough to win. That was year one, however, Leonard's feelings changed, even after the Raptors won the title.
It's being reported by Josh Lewenberg of TSN, Leonard told the Raptors he didn't feel they were good enough to repeat. Wait...what?
There were obviously other reasons why he chose the Clippers, including and especially his desire to go home, but one of the things Kawhi told the Raptors when he met with them in Toronto last summer, according to a source, was that he didn't think they were good enough to repeat

He may not regret his decision – Kawhi doesn’t strike me as a person that lives with many regrets, and he did get to go play at home, after all – but, if nothing else, now he knows what he left behind in Toronto. They would have been good enough.

While he wasn't wrong considering the Raptors are out of the playoffs, but you have to think with Kawhi in the fold the Raptors could have run it back.
