Report: Milwaukee Provides Update on Potential Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade
The Milwaukee Bucks are in a vital position as a franchise, as the team is trying to sign superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo to a long-term extension. While it's expected by everyone the team will be offering the max 5-year term to Giannis, there's been no indication the 'Greek Freak' will be signing on the dotted line to stick around.
One thing's for sure, even if Giannis doesn't sign an extension, don't expect the Bucks to trade their superstar.
According to Tim Bontemps of ESPN, the team has indicated no trade will be coming even if the extension isn't a done deal before the trade deadline. As far as free-agent interest goes for Giannis, expect the Raptors, Heat, Lakers and Mavericks to battle it out, should they be given the chance.
The Bucks are able to offer Antetokounmpo around $221 million to stick around Milwaukee, but with reports surfacing he's going to wait it out to see what the roster looks like, the pressure is certainly on the team to improve.
No pressure, Milwaukee. It's only the state of your franchise that hangs in the balance...
