The Andre Drummond Trade Rumors Are Heating Up!
Andre Drummond is one of the best bigs in the league. He's a rebounding machine and is perfectly suited to be a complimentary scorer on a good team. Drummond spent last season between the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers and in 57 combined games, averaged 17.7 points per game and 15.2 rebounds.
Next order of business...a contract extension.
Drummond and the Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly no where near agreeing to a contract extension, which is setting him up to be a prime trade candidate. Cleveland reporter, Chris Fedor had this to say on the matter:
They don’t want to commit to an unfriendly deal that could limit future moves, not after an eight-game sample size. Drummond, meanwhile, wants to be compensated for bypassing a chance at 2021 free agency, when many teams will have significant cap space. Given the differing, current monetary views, an extension seems unlikely.
Teams like the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors would be prime candidates to pick Drummond up via trade, if he's only sitting with one-year left on his deal.
If you don't hear about a contract extension announcement coming in Cleveland, expect to see Andre Drummond on the next flight.
