The Fred VanVleet Rumors Are Heating Up!
Fred VanVleet likes to bet on himself, as the undrafted guard has gone from grinding his way into the league, to being one of the biggest names on the free agent market. The Toronto Raptors are certainly doing what they can to ensure there is enough money for a return to the club, but rumor has one team going after FVV really hard.
Insert the New York Knicks, as according to Stefan Bondy of the Daily News, the team has heavy interest in VanVleet and will be willing to pay big dollars to make a deal happen.
While the Knicks are not the only team with interest, you have to think the Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns, who both could use an upgrade at point guard, would be interested in signing VanVleet.
The Knicks are a different beast though, as playing in New York is much like playing in Toronto. A huge city with a passionate fan base, and it doesn't hurt the Knicks have all the cap space in the world and need a starting point guard.
FVV started regularly for the Raptors last year, his first year doing so, and recorded 17.6 points per game, 6.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.9 steals. The Knicks could use all that and more.
