Anthony signed with the team back in November of 2019 and the 36-year-old looked as fresh as ever, becoming a big piece for the Blazers. It was great to see, as Anthony admits he contemplated retirement when no teams were calling with interest. In Portland he averaged 15.4 points per game in 58 starts, which by all accounts was perfect evidence showing he's far from done in the league.
Back in August, Anthony was filmed by TMZ and had this to say about coming back for another season:
I pray that it can be Portland, I think I found a home in Portland. I think you (media members) saw it, why this is a good fit for me. Whenever you find a situation that's comfortable and allows you to be who you are, you want to stay in that situation. There's no need to try different things when something is working.
