Cavaliers' Kevin Porter Jr Arrested on Weapons Charges
The Cleveland Cavaliers see Kevin Porter Jr as an integral piece of their future on the court, unfortunately his off the court antics have put a damper on things.
Porter was arrested on November 15th on charges of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, this according to records obtained by Police. The documented record show the loaded gun was easily accessible to any operator or passenger of the vehicle, which is a no-no in the courts. Porter's bond was $4000 which was paid and he was released.
Last season for the Cavs, Porter averaged 10 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Cleveland is aware of the news and had this to say in a statement:
We are aware of the situation involving Kevin Porter Jr. and are in the process of gathering information. We have spoken with Kevin and will continue to address this privately with him as the related process evolves.By all accounts, looks like a small learning moment for the Cavaliers and expect to see Porter moving on from this unwanted spotlight.
