Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets Complete a Trade
The Detroit Pistons have acquired Jerami Grant from the Denver Nuggets in a sign-and-trade deal, which also sees the Pistons receive the draft rights to Nikola Radicevic. The Nuggets receive cash considerations in the deal which is minimal compared to the $9.55 million 'traded-player exception' the team has now created with the deal.
The Denver Nuggets offered Jerami Grant the same amount of money as the Detroit Pistons, per @kendra__andrews

Grant chose the Pistons over a team that just made the WCF 😳 pic.twitter.com/tYPsLEiO1P
Even though the Nuggets are expected to be the more superior team between the two, Grant wanted to leave and heads to Motown looking for a bigger role for next season and beyond.
The Pistons are also sending $110k to the Nuggets in a Jerami Grant sign and trade. Detroit has a hard cap triggered by the S&T. Denver gets a $9,525,000 trade exception (and the rights to Nikola Radicevic) @BBallInsiders

The Pistons have also signed Mason Plumlee from the Nuggets as they continue to round out their front court.
Grant, who's 26 is known for his versatility, length, athleticism and scoring abilities. There's potential a bigger role with the Pistons propels him to a new level in the league.
Grant averaged 12 points per game last season and could see this jump north of 15 next year. The Pistons certainly hope that's the case.
