Looks Like Rajon Rondo is Leaving the Lakers
Rajon Rondo has informed the Los Angeles Lakers he is opting out of his contract. The veteran point-guard had a $2.6 million ticket for next season and has decided to decline the player option, in hopes of cashing in a little more.
Rondo is fresh off a championship with the Lakers, however, with the recent acquisition of Denis Schroder, it's hard to say exactly where Rondo fits in next season.
Sources: Rajon Rondo is expected to decline his player option for $2.6 million with the Lakers to become a free agent. Rondo will have teams after him, including the Clippers and Atlanta Hawks.

The 34-year-old Rondo has been linked to the Clippers, Hawks and the Boston Celtics and with the NBA offseason officially beginning this week, it shouldn't take long for Rondo to sign on somewhere.
In 48 games last season, Rondo averaged 7.1 points per game, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. While he's been a starter the majority of his career, at this point, he would just be happy to play a few more seasons.
At this point, it doesn't appear next season will come as a Laker.
