Westbrook has recently made it known to the Rockets management that he prefers to play elsewhere where he doesn't have to share the spotlight with anyone. His desire is to be the #1 option on a team and a situation where he can be the floor general.
Gordon, 25, has two years left on his current deal at roughly $34.5 million. Gordon is one of the high-flyers in the league and has fallen out of sorts with the Magic as his name has been surfacing on trade boards for at least a year now. His numbers continue to decline year over year and some worry about his ability to score the ball. Last season he averaged just 14.4 points per game.
IF this deal goes down, the Magic will have to add another couple of assets for the Rockets to even consider it. The team has reportedly mentioned they are willing to go into training camp with both James Harden and Westbrook on their roster and don't care if they get uncomfortable.
