Report: James Wiseman Doesn't Want to be Drafted to Minnesota
James Wiseman hasn't played one possession in the NBA and he's already calling his shots. The top prospect and projected top-3 pick has reportedly made it clear, he doesn't want to play in Minnesota.
According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, Wiseman wants nothing to do with the Timberwolves:
Wiseman does not want to come to Minnesota because Karl Towns is there. From what I understand, Wiseman doesn’t even want to do anything with the Wolves
Apparently Wiseman doesn't see a fit with Towns also in the lineup, as their games are very similar and he would prefer to play the 5. While playing the 4 is an option, it doesn't appear it's one Wiseman would like to consider.
The Timberwolves have the right to select whoever they choose, however if Wiseman declines an interview, maybe Minnesota will get the hint.
At this point, LaMelo Ball seems like the pick, or the team will be trading down in the draft.
