The Latest On Russell Westbrook Leaving Houston
The NBA Twitter world was going crazy on Wednesday as the news dropped from Shams Charania of the Athletic, that Houston Rockets point guard Russell Westbrook wants out of Houston and has asked the team for a trade.
This comes after just one year in Houston, after a massive trade that sent Westbrook to Houston and Chris Paul to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Even though you would think Westbrook would be happy balling with James Harden again, that's not the case at all, and Westbrook wants to be in a situation where he's the guy, and can be the floor general on the floor.
Four teams that have emerged as favorites to land Westbrook are the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons.
Live look to see how Westbrook is handling the news getting out...
Russ is unbothered. 😅

Westbrook is owed $41.4 million next season and it only goes up to $44 .2 million in 2021-22, and Westbrook holds a player-option for the 2022-23 season at a whopping $47.1 million. You can bet your bottom dollar he's going to accept that option so any team acquiring Westbrook should be getting him for three seasons.
That's what the Rockets thought too...
