Blockbuster Trade: Wall for Westbrook
The two GM's -- Washington's Tommy Sheppard and Houston's Rafael Stone -- hadn't talked in weeks on the deal, but connected this afternoon and had a deal done within a few hours, sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/qmuPclNoU5

There had been speculation about either James Harden or Russell Westbrook getting shipped out of Houston for some time now, and on the other end, John Wall's name has been floating around in trade rumors since the dawn of time. Check out our article from November 17th on the subject.
Of course, NBA Twitter is going off...
This is a perfect trade for NBA Twitter.

I LOVE this trade. Not sure who wins, not sure who it helps, but I LOVE this trade.

Just as promised, Washington D.C. ensures Texas has functioning Wall by end of 2020.

For Westbrook this will be a reunion of sorts, as he has a relationship with Washington Head Coach Scott Brooks that dates back to 2008-09, Westbrook's first season in the NBA.
And, obviously, Scott Brooks has a very long history with Westbrook from their years together in Oklahoma City. https://t.co/N5yxFokrzD

Hopefully for the NBA and the Rockets, Wall is healthy and ready to go. He leaves Washington with career averages 19.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 9.2 apg & 1.7 spg and is the franchise's all-time leader in assists and steals, and played the 3rd most minutes in team history. Westbrook leaves Houston after just one year where he saw his scoring increase, but failed to average a triple-double on the season for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
