Hornets' Gordon Hayward Out With Broken Finger
And just like that, Gordon Hayward hits the injury report. The Charlotte Hornets forward has suffered a fracture on his pinky finger of his shooting hand.
The Hornets say forward Gordon Hayward sustained an avulsion fracture of his fifth metacarpal on his right hand during the team’s preseason game against the Raptors on Dec. 14. Hayward will miss Thursday’s preseason game at Orlando and will be listed as day-to-day moving forward.

At this point it's hard to say how long Hayward will be out for, but no doubt this is not the start the Hornets were looking for when they gave Hayward the bag before the season.
Hayward is expected to be the #1 option in Charlotte and is looking to move on from the Boston Celtics, where Hayward fell down the depth chart quickly due to a number of things, including his injury problems.
I feel for Gordon Hayward. Guy is just snakebitten with injuries. Hayward missed about a month of action when he had a fracture in his left hand last season. He did return about two weeks earlier than the originally projected six-week timeline that time.
