Video: LaMelo Ball Impresses In Preseason Hornets Debut
LaMelo Ball hasn't followed the path of your 'typical' NBA rookie. Instead of the college route, Ball went down under to play pro ball, and with no NBA summer league, the rookie 6'8 point-guard's debut came in the Charlotte Hornets opening preseason game against the Toronto Raptors.
Needless to say, Ball impressed and was dropping some fancy dimes on the regular.
Ball was pushing the pace like a savvy veteran all evening and showed signs of some amazing vision and court awareness. The 19-year-old has a flare for the dramatic and mixed in some beautiful no-look and behind-the-back passes that caught everyone's attention.
The most surprising stat of the evening may have been Ball's 10 defensive rebounds. He did go 0/5 from the field including 0/3 from deep. Regardless, the shots will drop and if Ball can push the tempo and distribute to his teammates, making them better, that's the perfect point-guard for the Hornets.
