Wall and Cousins Off to Flying Start With the Rockets
Even though the James Harden saga has been a huge distraction for the Houston Rockets, their fans should be excited about the tandem of John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins. The Kentucky Wildcat alums are both coming off a few injury plagued seasons and look as healthy as ever.
The Rockets took on the Chicago Bulls on Friday night as the NBA preseason began, and Wall was a beast in the 19 minutes he played. The versatile guard finished the game with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 rebounds.

Wall had lots to play for on Friday night. Besides it being his long-awaited return to the hard court, he had his mother in his thoughts as it's been one year since her passing.
John Wall points out that tomorrow will be one year to the day since his mom's passing, and that seems to have made his return tonight more special.

Wall's injury troubles are hopefully behind him after he had a huge bone spur removed from his heel. The bad luck continued for Wall as he ended up rupturing his Achilles in the shower once he was about to make his comeback.
While Houston is new territory for Wall, having his old pal 'Boogie' in the mix has made things easier. The two took off like old times from their year together at Kentucky, and Boogie showed off his range Friday night.

If the Rockets trade James Harden, which appears to be the next move, depending on the package they get back in return, if it meshes well with Wall and Cousins, Houston could be a problem in the west.
