Nets' Kyrie Irving Admits He Just Doesn't Feel Like Playing

When the Brooklyn Nets were getting set to play the eastern conference leading Philadelphia 76ers, they already knew they would be without Kevin Durant, and not long before the game they also found out point-guard Kyrie Irving didn't feel like playing.

Head coach Steve Nash had met with the media before the game and indicated it was a personal matter and he wasn't exactly sure why Irving wasn't playing but if you ask those around him, it's likely to do with the events that took place in America recently and either his focus wasn't there or his heart wasn't into it.

It's also been reported Irving won't travel to Memphis this weekend to play the Grizzlies as well.

The media asked Coach Nash if Irving just didn't want to play and Nash responded "I don't believe that to be the case". So there's obvious confusion between the two and a lack of communication. Hard to argue at this point if Nets fans should be worried about this miscommunication and if it will have any impacts down the road.

As for Durant, he's expected to be eligible to play on Sunday after being sidelined for four games due to Covid protocols.
