Los Angeles Lakers Make Interesting Roster Move
The Los Angeles Lakers have announced they have waived guard, Quinn Cook. The 28-year-old Cook has only appeared in 16 games so far this season and has seen himself fall out of the rotation of late.
With the move the Lakers now have two open spots on their 15-man roster which is creating some speculation the team is leaving room for a combination of potentially bought-out players including DeMarcus Cousins, Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin.
The Lakers valued Cook, but because of their hard-cap status, this gives the franchise flexibility to play the buyout market. They will be a compelling destination for perspective buyout players. https://t.co/QkQ8Q16SgY

Once Cook officially comes off the books, his cap hit will fall to $785,000 from $1.62 million, which gives the Lakers slight wiggle room under the hard cap.
Expect to see the Lakers heavily involved as a destination for anyone bought out, and they will have to fill at least one of their roster spots within two weeks. The drama out of Cleveland with Drummond or Houston with Cousins should be finished by then.
As for Cook, he will now become a free-agent and able to sign where he wishes. Expect to see lots of interest from around the league for his services.
