Rumor: Karl-Anthony Towns to New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are reportedly monitoring the situation in Minnesota surrounding Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns. Back in October 2020, the Knicks were named as one team that was keeping an eye on Towns' availability as Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau would be open to a reunion with the talented big man. These talks have recently been picking up a ton of steam.
Knicks want a name. Thibodeau. Leon Rose, William Wesley toes are there!

Karl Towns is an intrigue. Any Towns moves depend on what Minnesota Timberwolves do in offseason, however.
There’s a want for Devin Booker & T-Wolves worship the ground Towns walks on, literally! https://t.co/aTRS6mxeeX pic.twitter.com/wR1mYXSnmW
The Timberwolves recent coaching change caught some off guard but more so, Towns' comments about the situation are what's most intriguing here. While he loves Minny and would love to finish his career with one-team, he knows it's a business and there's likely going to come a time where a hard decision needs to be made by management.
I would love to finish my career here in Minnesota until obviously the business calls or business changes or whatever the case may be. I don’t plan on it to, or at least I’m not hoping to make the decision. I want to build something great here. I want to build a legacy in Minnesota. I’m just every day trying to help our coaching staff and help this organization build a culture.
The 17-17 Knicks are trying to get a name and Towns is likely at the top of the list. While something happening before the March 25th trade deadline isn't likely at this point, look for talks to pick up this upcoming offseason.
