Video: LeBron Claps Back at Ibrahimovic Over 'Stick to Sports' Suggestion
LeBron James is more than an athlete and it's about time he gets praised for knowing how powerful his platform is. Instead, we have another professional athlete calling James out for his 'views' about social and political issues.
The latest comes from soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic who had this to say earlier this week about what James should be doing with his life:
(LeBron) is phenomenal at what he's doing, but I don't like when people have some kind of status, they go and do politics at the same time. Do what you're good at. Do the category you do. I play football because I'm the best at playing football I don't do politics. If I would be a political politician, I would do politics. That is the first mistake people do when they become famous and they become in a certain status. Stay out of it. Just do what you do best because it doesn't look good.
As expected, James didn't let the comments go unnoticed and stood up for himself and the use of his platform to bring change to the world on many levels. As LeBron mentions, he's done his homework, he's educated on a number of issues and he's been preaching change for the better since he became a star.
Here's what LeBron had to say about the comments:
