The 27-year-old big-man made it official through his agent as they released the news earlier on Sunday. According to Bobby Marks, Drummond will have a roughly $555,000 cap hit with the Lakers, who will sit roughly $954,000 below the hard cap and have the flexibility to add a 15th player to their roster.
The Lakers have been looking for another center these past few weeks as the Marc Gasol experiment hasn't really panned out for the team. As a backup to Drummond, Gasol will be in a much better role as the Lakers look to make another deep run in the playoffs.
So far this season, Drummond is averaging 17.5 points, 13.5 boards, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks over 25 appearances in 2020-21.LA Lakers Making Moves! 💥💥💥https://t.co/50GPLVbQO5
