Clippers and Kings Complete a Trade
The Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings have finalized a deal that sees the Clips sending Mfiondu Kabengele, cash and a second-round pick to the Kings in exchange for a protected second-round draft pick.
The motive behind the deal is for the Clippers to get under the hard salary cap by saving $2.6 million with this deal and allows for the team to be active on the buy-out market.
The Kings bring in the 23-year-old Kabengele, who was a first round pick of the Brooklyn Nets back in 2019. He's never made it regularly in the Clippers rotation and the team has been trying to find him a new home for awhile now.
So far this season he's averaged 1.2 points, 0.6 rebounds, and is shooting 28% from the field in the 23 games he's appeared in.
Neither of these teams are finished and we will hear from both of them before Thursday's deadline.
