Dennis Schroder Comments on his Future as a Laker
Dennis Schroder of the Los Angeles Lakers is trying to make one thing as clear as possible - he wants to stay a Laker for a long-time. The pending free-agent is able to re-test the market this upcoming offseason but it sounds like his agent and Lakers management could take care of that before it happens.
Schroder recently met with the media and commented on his contract for next season and beyond:
I want to be a part of this organization for a long time. So, we’re kind of, between these: Should we just sign the extension? Or should we wait until the summer? Because at the end of the day, I want to be a Laker for a long time. I always say I want it to be fair.
The Lakers currently sit second in the western conference and Schroder has been a big part of the team this season. The 27-year-old has averaged 14.8 points per game along with 3.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists, starting all 37 games he's played.
While his intentions are clear, expect to see Schroder test the open market this summer.
