Eric Gordon No Longer Trade Bait for Houston
The injury bug bit the Houston Rockets at the wrong moment, as they have been trying to deal Eric Gordon for some time now. Gordon suffered a strained groin during Thursday night's loss to the Sacramento Kings and is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks. Unfortunately for the Rockets, Gordon is essentially assured of staying with in Houston until the offseason.
Gordon was an interesting target for several teams ahead of the March 25 trade deadline, but the injury largely assures Gordon will finish the season with Houston.

Gordon was in the midst of one of his better scoring seasons in his career, averaging 17.8 ppg on 43.3% FG (his best mark since the 2013-14 season). Of course, the Rockets have now lost 14 games in a row and are looking at a youth movement, of which Gordon does not fit.
Look for the Rockets to deal Gordon in the offseason, as there will be several suitors for the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year and veteran with 13 NBA seasons under his belt.
