Rudy Gobert: 'Jazz Haven't Accomplished Sh*t'
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert wanted to remind his teammates their team hasn't accomplished anything in the NBA just yet. The latest reality check came on after Thursday's 131-122 loss to the Washington Wizards.
Gobert met with the media after the game and didn't hold back:
We need to understand that we haven't accomplished shit. We get upset when people laugh at us on TV and disrespect us. It's on us to respect ourselves. We're not the champions. We're not a team that can just cruise and turn it on come playoff time. We have to stay hungry,
You can't blame Gobert for trying to motivate his teammates and wake them up. After the best start in the NBA that saw the Jazz get off to a 24-5 record, the team has cooled off, losing four of their last six games.
The Jazz haven't had playoff success for quite some time and this year seems to be as good as chance ever for the team to go deep. Jazz fans are hoping Gobert and company can get them past the first round after back-to-back seasons with early playoff departures.
We'll have to wait and see if Gobert's comments spark his club. If they do, the western conference could be in big trouble again.
