The Lakers essentially have come out of nowhere after it's been reported the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat continue to battle it out in their bidding war. The stickler here appears to be the extension coming after the trade as Lowry wants some insurance from his next team.
The 35-year-old long-time Raptors great played in what could be his last basketball game for the franchise on Wednesday night and was visibly emotional after the game.

He also kept it light and answered a facetime from Drake during his media availability after the game.
As for the trade, it's going to be very interesting if it turns out to be the Lakers and it's likely another team is involved. Names like Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell and Talen Horton-Tucker have all been reported.
