Rumor: Victor Oladipo to be Traded to the New York Knicks
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post the Houston Rockets are likely to trade Victor Oladipo before the March 25th trade deadline and he could be headed to the New York Knicks.
The pending free-agent has been performing well for the Houston Rockets since arriving in the James Harden mega-deal but the team has been struggling beyond belief. With multiple reports surfacing that Oladipo will be signing with the Miami Heat this offseason, it will be best for the Rockets to at least acquire a few assets before they lose him for nothing. The Knicks have several young pieces that could appease the Rockets including Kevin Knox and Frank Ntilkina.
As for Oladipo, the 28-year-old Maryland native is averaging 20.0 points, 5.2 assists and 4.5 rebounds this season. Unfortunately, it's not working out for the Rockets as the team is sliding fast. They sit 14th in the Western conference with a 11-23 record on the season.
As for the Knicks, they are the biggest surprise so far in the NBA, sitting 5th in the Eastern conference with a 19-18 record. Adding a scorer like Oladipo could propel the Knicks into serious contention in the East as the likes of Julius Randle and RJ Barrett could use another running mate in the Big Apple.
