76ers Dwight Howard Feels Like He's Playing Against the Refs
Dwight Howard of the Philadelphia 76ers is one of the bigger personalities in the NBA and someone who likes to have a little fun while he's on the court. Turns out he's not having much of a good time lately as he feels he's being targeted by the officials when it comes to technical fouls.
The 76ers center has 15 technical fouls on the season, leaving him just one short of an automatic one-game suspension, and he's not happy about it:
I do feel like I've been targeted, but I am just going to continue to play as hard as I can. I want the Philly fans to know that I am out there giving 130% every night. The calls might not go my way, I might seem a little frustrated, but I am out there to help this team win a championship. I have to make sure that I hold myself accountable and do the right things and I hate it, I've got this many techs. It doesn't show my character, who I am as a person, a player, so I've got to do a better job of that, but a lot of my techs have been just really quick and when I'm on the court, I'm passionate, I want to win.
It's been so bad lately Howard got T'd up just for clapping at a foul call. The incident pissed off his head coach Doc Rivers who was also T'd up for complaining about the call.
This will certainly be something to watch as we head into the playoffs as every shot from the charity stripe matters.
