Horrible Scene as Wizards' Deni Avdija Suffers Fractured Ankle
Washington Wizards forward Deni Avdija left Wednesday night's basketball game against the Golden State Warriors in a wheelchair after suffering a broken ankle.
It was a brutal scene as seconds before halftime the 20-year-old appeared to try and land from a lay-up attempt and suffered the worst possible outcome. Some good news in all of this is according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is Avdija won't require surgery.
The 20-year-old who was the ninth overall pick at last year's draft is averaging 6.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in 53 games. His rookie season is over and we wish him nothing but the best during his recovery. To note, Jordan Bell is a great teammate for rushing to help and covering his leg up, and helping him stay calm.
