Isaiah Thomas Finished in New Orleans
The Isaiah Thomas comeback story is short-lived as it appears the New Orleans Pelicans will not be extending another 10-day contract to the veteran point guard.
According to Andrew Lopez of ESPN, the Pelicans have decided to move on and while they were happy with his production, it wasn't enough for the team to warrant further commitment. There is a chance down the road for another contract, but at this time the team has no plans of extending the relationship.
Here is what a sample timeline would look like for New Orleans to stay under the tax and sign 2 players:

4/27- 1 Ten-Day Contract (now $142,805 below)
5/11- Can sign 2 players ($66,599 each) to a rest of the season contract https://t.co/U63jt8ikDa
The Pelicans have two weeks before they must add another roster player so the team could wait until the last possible moment to save some money.
In his three appearances with the Pelicans, which totaled 48-minutes, Thomas averaged 7.7 points and 1.7 assists. It was his latest comeback attempt after lingering hip issues put a stop on his career.
