Kevin Durant & Mike Conley Win Oscar for Short Film
Remember when somebody said "stick to basketball", well don't tell Kevin Durant and Mike Conley that as the two have won an Oscar! They picked up their impressive hardware on Sunday night for their work on a short film called "Two Distant Strangers".
The two basketball stars were executive producers on the project which won in the best live-action short film category at the year's Oscars. The story included a Black man's repeated interaction with a violent policy officer. The script had bene inspired from George Floyd's death last May.
Here's what the Brooklyn Nets superstar had to say about the film in February via SLAM:
From the minute we saw the script for this project, we knew it had the potential to be very powerful, and we wanted to be involved.
Amazing work by the two basketball stars and there's certainly one person who's proud as ever of both Durant and Conley. 2018 Oscar winner, Kobe Bryant.
