Video: Jayson Tatum Goes Off For Best Game By a Celtic Since Larry Bird
Jayson Tatum had a career night as the Boston Celtics managed to get by the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime on Friday night, 145-136. Tatum dropped a career high 53 points in the victory and added 10 rebounds.
The Celtics superstar couldn't miss on Friday night as he shot 16-of-25 from the field, including six deep balls. While he was solid in the first half, Tatum turned into beast mode and scored 37 points in the second half and OT.
According to StatMuse, the 23-year-old is the first Celtics player to register at least 50 points and 10 boards in one game since Larry Bird in 1989. Is that good?
His head coach Brad Stevens had this to say about his silent assassin:
Don't mistake his quiet demeanor for him not being a competitor. He is a competitor.
