Video: Toronto Raptors Crush the Cavaliers, Creep Closer to Playoff Spot
Pascal Siakam led the way as the Toronto Raptors handled the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday and now sit only one game back of the 10th 'playoff' spot in the Eastern Conference. With a play-in tournament on deck, the Raptors are trying to claw their way back into the postseason picture.
Siakam scored 25 points on Monday, meanwhile rookie Malachi Flynn dropped 18 and the Raptors used a huge second half to get by the Cavs 112-96. Veteran point guard and Raptors great Dr Kyle Lowry was also a big factor in the decision as he dropped 10 dimes and chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.
The Raptors have won five of six and while they may not have all the ingredients left from the championship squad, you can bet your bottom dollar they are one team in the Eastern conference that other teams are trying to avoid.
Monday nights game was entertaining and got off to a hot start for the Raps. All five of Toronto's starters had a dunk or a layup while the team went on a 14-0 run early.
Some other game notes via NBA:
F Chris Boucher, who sprained the MCL in his left knee last Wednesday, will miss several more games. ... F Gary Trent Jr. sat with a leg injury, and G Paul Watson missed a third game with left knee tendonitis. ... Toronto's 43 field goals included eight dunks and 14 layups.
