Zion Williamson Can't Get Enough of Playing Basketball in New York
In news that will have New York Knicks fans going crazy, Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans admitted on Sunday he absolutely loves playing in NYC. This came after the Pelicans lost to the Knicks 122-112, which happened to be Williamson's first trip to the Big Apple as a pro.
The second-year superstar met with the media postgame and had this to say about playing at MSG:
New York is the mecca of basketball. I love playing here. I played here in college, and this is my first time playing here in the pros. This atmosphere, whether they're cheering for you, whether they're booing for you, it's amazing. Honestly, I think - outside of New Orleans, obviously - I think this might be my favorite place to play ... I can't even lie to you.
This may sting for fans of the team as the Knicks held a 14% chance of landing the top pick back at the 2019 draft, which was tied for the best odds and sure enough they slipped in the draft and Williamson ended up in New Orleans after having a 6% chance.

Keep an eye on the 2023-24 offseason. If Williamson hasn't signed an extension by then, Knicks fans might be set up for disappointment once again.
