Details Revealed on Steph Curry's Future in Golden State
The Golden State Warriors almost pulled off the unthinkable, and snuck their way into the NBA postseason. Unfortunately the one man band of Stephen Curry couldn't get the job done and the Dubs were ousted. So now what for the Warriors? Turns out their president and general manager had a lot to say about Curry's future with the team.
I'm pretty confident we can get a contract extension completed. You owe it to them to try to win. Those people don't come along too often with that kind of talent that he obviously has.
The Warriors would be ridiculed if they didn't re-sign Curry and let him walk. There's been some tough luck in Oakland with Klay Thompson's injury troubles and if healthy, the Warriors can contend for another title. As for Curry, Curry has spent his entire 12-year career in the Bay Area. The former seventh overall pick passed the legendary Wilt Chamberlain last month as Golden State's all-time leading scorer. He is signed through next season, however he's eligible for a four-year $215.4 million extension this summer so we will be curious to see how this is all handled.
For now, it appears Curry isn't going anywhere and look for the Warriors to get healthy next season and make a run.
