Video: Knicks Beat Grizzlies, Clinch First Winning Season in Almost a Decade
Rejoice Knicks' fans as your basketball team has clinched themselves a winning season for the first time in eight years. The New York Knicks took on the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night and with the 118-104 victory, will guarantee themselves more wins than losses this season.
The Knicks have quickly become the best story of the NBA this season and one that's surprised many. The teams being led by Julius Randle, RJ Barrett and Derrick Rose and on Monday night against the Grizzlies was no different. Randle scored 28, Rose added 25 and Barrett chipped in with 15.
New York has now won 12 of their last 13 games as they continue to climb the standings in the Eastern Conference. This will be the first winning record for the team since 2012-13 when they went 54-28. They face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday and look to keep the good times rolling.
As for some game notes:
C Nerlens Noel, who suffered a left ankle sprain in Sunday’s win over the Rockets, was out. Taj Gibson started at center for New York, his third start of the season. ... Randle missed his first four shots and was 1 of 7 in the first quarter. ... Gibson had 12 rebounds and five blocks.
