Denver Nuggets Coach Calls Out His Team After Game 2 Loss

Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone was not impressed with his basketball team after they were blown out by the Phoenix Suns in Game 2 of their series 123-98. Malone felt his team quit and was embarrassed by their actions.
I felt we quit tonight, which is something you never want to see,.I guess for Game 3, I'm just going to try find guys that will at least go out there and leave it all on the line. I may have a hard time coming up with five guys that fill that. I saw one team that wanted to be here and played with a purpose and urgency, and one team that did not want to be here and played with no urgency. And that's why we got our ass kicked. This was an embarrassing performance from myself all the way to the last player. We're walking out of here with our heads held down, rightfully so. There's a reason that their crowd is yelling, 'Suns in four.' They're calling for a sweep because if we play like this back in Denver, this is going to be a really quick series

Now the Nuggets have quite the hole to dig themselves out of against a powerful Suns squad. While MVP Nikola Jokic continues to play well, scoring 24 points, 13 boards and six assists, his supporting cast is letting him down when it matters most. No other Nuggets player scored more than 11 points in Wednesday night, which obviously isn't going to cut it against the Suns.

At one point of this game the Suns were blowing the Nuggets out by 31 points and looked like they took their foot off the pedal. They'll look to get back on track in the high altitude of Mile High for Game 3.
