Jimmy Butler Expected to Ask For 4 yr/$181M Max Extension
The Miami Heat just went down in flames in the first round of the playoffs, swept in four straight by the Milwaukee Bucks. But according to a new report in the Miami Herald, Jimmy Butler will be seeking a 4-yr, $181 million dollar max extension this summer.
Butler still has two years remaining on his current deal, but this extension would have the Heat paying him until his age-36 season, topping out at $50M/year.
Report: 'Expectation' is that Jimmy Butler will seek maximum 4-year, $181 million extension from Miami Heat

2022-23 | $40.5M | 33 years old
2023-24 | $43.8M | 34 years old
2024-25 | $47.0M | 35 years old
2025-26 | $50.3M | 36 years old https://t.co/vsRbI3dWVG
This all comes after Butler, who led the Heat to the Finals in the bubble last year, averaged just 14.5 ppg on 29.7 percent shooting, to go with a massive minus-86 over their recent 4-game sweep at the hands of the Bucks.
How is 'Heat Nation' feeling about all this? Many seem to be saying they just don't have a choice.
Obviously age is a big factor for a Butler extension. $50M at 36 years old would hurt, but Heat were awful without him. They might not have a choice.

Need the GOAT Andy Elisburg to do salary gymnastics to make something work. Build around Jimmy
Can’t believe a Jimmy extension being “worth it or not” is even a topic.

First fans scream at the org to “GET STARS!!!!!!!”
Now we scream about paying them?
This is how this works.
Heat Nation... Discuss.
