Luka Doncic on Whether He'll Sign $200M Extension: "I think you know the answer!"
Not that there was ever any doubt, but Luka has pretty much made it a slam dunk, when asked if he would sign the 5-year, $200M rookie extension the Dallas Mavericks will be offering this summer.

"I think you know the answer", said with that famous Luka smile, is of course all that Mavs' fans needed to hear.
Hard to believe a guy able to dominate the game with veteran savvy the way Doncic does is actually still on his rookie contract. With one year to go on that deal, the extension actually kicks in in the 2022-23 season, even though it will be signed once free agency begins in August.
The most recent rookie extensions, like those for Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell, were worth $195 million over 5 years. Luka is set to eclipse that.
Early estimates have the rookie extension this offseason for Luka Doncic crossing the $200 million threshold over five years and the Mavericks, league sources say, naturally intend to offer it Doncic once free agency begins in August.
