Report: Timberwolves Want Ben Simmons 'Badly'

With the NBA offseason right around the corner, rumors surrounding 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons continue to burgeon. The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the salient teams in the mix for Simmons, should he be made available, and it's being reported that they want him "badly," per SKOR North's Darren Wolfson.

On his podcast, "The Scoop," Wolfson delineates how he texted an individual very close to Simmons and asked them: "how badly do the Wolves want to trade for Ben Simmons." That's when he received the titular response.  Furthermore, Wolfson goes on to mention how team president Gersson Rosas has had an interest in Simmons for months now.

This news is in light of reports circulating that the Timberwolves would have to include "draft picks in addition to whatever players the Wolves are sending." The price for Simmons would surely be steep, considering the fact that his max contract is worth 28% of a team's cap.

Wolfson also highlighted the Trailblazers as the preeminent trade destination at this juncture, due to the likelihood of a quasi-one-for-one trade including Simmons and McCollum. Nonetheless, if the Sixers do place Simmons on the trading block, there will be up to 12 teams that will throw their hat into the ring.
