Trade Rumor: Karl-Anthony Towns to the Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers haven't been out of the NBA playoffs long and the rumors are already starting to swirl about next season. If you ask Stephen A Smith, he sees Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves as a prime candidate for a blockbuster trade to Portland.
Smith was recording an episode of First Take, when his phone went off with a text citing an extremely credible source with inside information. Any deal between the T-Wolves and Trail Blazers that includes Towns would likely include Jusuf Nurkic and CJ McCollum heading the other way.
The Trail Blazers continue to be a regular season success story and there's no doubt the likes of Damian Lillard and McCollum have had a good run, but they are approaching a crossroads of either adding a third piece that's more substantial than someone like a Norman Powell, or they are going to blow it up and find Lillard a running mate, like someone with the talent of KAT.
Here's Stephen A sharing his 'inside' knowledge:
“I just got a text from somebody, and they mentioned to me Karl-Anthony Towns maybe in Portland." - Stephen A Smith
