Trade Rumor: Kyle Kuzma Finished With LA Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers weren't able to run back their Championship season and apparently there's going to be some major changes to the supporting cast of Anthony Davis and LeBron James. One name to watch out for is Kyle Kuzma, and it sounds like he's getting dealt for sure.
The Lakers have grown frustrated with (Kyle) Kuzma’s inconsistency and are going to look at trading him this offseason. Rob Pelinka won’t move him for cheap, but if he can be packaged to add better talent around LeBron and AD, they will do that. Kuzma will be on the trade block this offseason and quite a few teams are expected to show interest - NBA Agent
The 25-year-old Kuzma hasn't been able to put it all together on a nightly basis and you can't blame the Lakers for being frustrated. Last season in 68 appearances, he averaged 12.9ppg, 6.1rpg, and 1.9apg, while shooting 44.3% from the field and 36.1% from deep. While the Lakers like his athleticism, it's the work ethic on defense and his inconsistent scoring they could do without.
Kuzma's best season came back two years ago when he averaged 18.7ppg. Pelinka and company will be sure to point out the fact he's capable of being near a 20 point scorer as a primary option to try and entice teams to budge. Maybe he'll get traded for someone in the cast of Space Jam? LeBron would likely approve.
