Trade Rumor: New Orleans Pelicans to Complete Offseason Blockbuster
The New Orleans Pelicans continue to build a roster full of young talent and this offseason they will be looking to make some changes to some of their veterans. The team finished on the outside looking in at the NBA's playoff picture and management is going to look to make a splash. One name you can expect to be moved is guard Eric Bledsoe.
The 31-year-old has two seasons left on his contract which includes a player option in 2022-23. Last season Bledsoe scored 12.2 ppg, 3.4 apg, and 3.8rpg. He started 70 of 71 games and while he had his moments, the team was expecting more out of the Kentucky product.
With Lonzo Ball needing a new contract and the likes of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram the young core the Pelicans are building around, Bledsoe has become expendable. He's a one-dimensional player who is a decent option for a team who needs help scoring, but that's not what the Pelicans need. Look for Bledsoe to be moved and for the Pelicans to acquire some defensive help who can lock-down the perimeter.
It’s personal with Eric Bledsoe. He wasted a year of Zions career https://t.co/mGmeIZxSQK
