Trade Rumor: Raptors & Hornets Could Pull Off Blockbuster Deal
The Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets are two franchises with huge decisions to make this upcoming offseason. While both clubs are expected to make changes on many levels, rumors have surfaced regarding a blockbuster trade involving Raptors forward Pascal Siakam.
The deal would see Siakam heading to the Hornets for a package of young and veteran talent including the likes of Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier and PJ Washington. The Hornets would love to build around LaMelo Ball, Gordon Hayward and Siakam and would have themselves a decent 'big 3' of their own.
The Raptors on the other hand are at some serious crossroads after a very disappointing season. They finished out of the playoff picture for the first time in forever, posting a 27-45 record. Veteran point guard Kyle Lowry is a free-agent and the team has big decisions to make when it comes to Gary Trent Jr's future with the franchise. Considering the team gave up Norman Powell in the trade with Portland, keeping Trent Jr around would be in their best interest.
Look for both the Raptors and Hornets to be extremely active this offseason, with a good chance of a trade happening between the two franchises. Siakam heading to the Hornets for a package would certainly be a lovely blockbuster to kick-off an exciting offseason.
