Trade Rumor: Warriors and Raptors Discussing Blockbuster Deal
The Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors have been rumored to be in touch regarding a blockbuster trade that would see Pascal Siakam end up heading to California and center James Wiseman and the #7 pick at the upcoming draft heading north to Toronto. This according to John Hollinger of The Athletic.
Any deal between the two clubs is going to come down to money as both rosters do line up when it comes to available talent. The Raptors lucked out and managed to get the #4 pick at the recent lottery, so adding another top-10 pick to go with Wiseman who was taken #2 at last year's draft, certainly give the Raptors a ton of potential for their young core.
One name to watch here too is Toronto native Andrew Wiggins. His salary matches up much closer with Siakam's than Wiseman's and he's been on the Raptors radar since he was 13.
These two teams are both in for some facelifts this offseason and this blockbuster deal would certainly kick start what's expected to be wild summer in the NBA. Siakam's shoulder rehab from surgery will be closely monitored by both franchises and expect trade talks to pick up closer to the July 29th draft.
