Video: Nuggets' Jokic Ejected For Hard Foul on Suns' Payne
The Denver Nuggets were swept away by the Phoenix Suns on Sunday and during the third quarter Nikola Jokic was ejected for the fourth time in his career.
The play happened in the third quarter of Game 4 as the MVP was assessed a flagrant-2 foul for hammering Cameron Payne with a hard foul as he tried to swipe the ball away, but wasn't actually trying to swipe the ball away.
Next thing you know some Suns teammates including Devin Booker came to Payne's defense and we had ourselves some aftermath. While he only played 2.5 quarters, Jokic finished the game with 22 points, 11 boards. one block and four assists in 28 minutes.
The Joker had this to say about the play after the game:
I wanted to change the rhythm of the game, I wanted to give us some energy, maybe change the whistle a little bit, so I wanted to make a hard foul. Did I hit him, did I not hit him? We don't know. So I say sorry if I did.
