Kyle Lowry Receives Honorary Doctorate from Acadia University

Acadia University, in Nova Scotia, Canada has bestowed an honorary Doctorate of Humanities (class of 2021) to Lowry for his service to the community in both his hometown of Philadelphia as well as his adopted hometown of Toronto. In a press release, the university stated:
Off the court, Mr. Lowry is a champion for the disadvantaged. He and his wife, Ayahna Cornish-Lowry, co-founded the Lowry Love Foundation in 2013. The foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of the underprivileged and disadvantaged of Philadelphia and Toronto to help them attain a better quality of life.

Lowry has said of the honor: "There are two factors that I have learned throughout my journey. Success cannot be obtained without struggle, and it definitely cannot be accomplished alone."
